I'm not from Chicago, I was out for a walk and stumbled upon this place. It reminded me of a classic Italian eatery from the movies. The stuffed cheese sticks weren't cheese sticks,
They were cheese logs! HUGE... and the marinara sauce with them was incredible. The stuffed shells with vodka sauce and chicken were incredible! Also had the thin crust pizza with Canadian bacon and pineapple. It was excellent! Lily was our server, she was so cute and helpful.
Saw a clip on IG about Palermo's of 63rd, figured we'd stop in the next time we were in the city.
Definitely worth the 45 minute ride from the MCACN show!
Classic styling building, neat family photos of the owners history on the walls, and great atmosphere.
Figured we would sample a few items, and it was definitely a good choice! The tomato sauce has a slight sweet and oregano taste, excellent fresh and reheated! Cheese Ravioli was excellent, as was the Classic and deep-dish pizza.
Italian Beef sandwich was good reheated 2 days later, even without the au-ju.
We will definitely be back with family the next time we come to Chicago!
Tried Palermo's for the first time after reading positive reviews. Ordered several pizzas with different crusts and toppings. As others have mentioned, the sauce is definitely on the sweet side, but still good. We went with one paper thin and one regular thin crust. Neither are as thin as tavern style, but we did prefer the paper thin. More chewy than crisp. Service was good, and the complimentary lemon sorbet was a nice touch.
Typical old school neighborhood pizza place with exceptional pizza. The sauce was amazing. Perfect combo of ingredients and cooked just right. Possibly the best pizza I have ever had.
I'm a Long time customer to this location. Love the food but after tonight, they lost a customer. Ordered a medium pizza with bbq wings. They sent regular wings with hot sauce on the side. I called back and the option were a refund or an exchange. I asked for refund and they were going to come pick up the wings. Perfectly find with me. However, the gentleman on the phone started to joke around on the phone while I was giving my information. He even had the the nerve to compare me to previous customers that tried to rip them off. Good food will never be worth disrespect and poor customer service.
This is a neighborhood favorite of our family. Their stuffed is awesome, with its slightly sweet sauce. Mm mm good! The thin crust is also delicious. And if you like chicken marsala, they have the best in my opinion. Give them a try. Frank, the owner, would love for you to try them.
Amazing food and fantastic service! If you are in Chicago I would highly recommend you dropping buy! Will be going again on my next visit. Pizza bread appetizer melts in the mouth, chicken Alfredo is simply devine, service is second to none, our server was friendly and helpful without being in your face but always there when needed.
Best pizza in Chicago and anywhere else I've ever been. The reviews calling the sauce watered down, or it's too sweet. They don't know good pizza.. I've been going here my entire life until I moved out of state.. I still go out of my way every time I'm back to get a pizza. Oh, and FYI, you're dealing with real Italians. They're going to curse and possibly be rude. That's how we roll😁
